Program Overview:

This module equips Saudi diplomats with practical insights into the role of international organizations and multilateral institutions in shaping global governance. Through expert-led sessions and site visits to key Geneva-based institutionsincluding the UN, WTO, ILO, OCHA, UNHCR, ICRC, and WHOparticipants will explore themes such as UN reform, trade and development, humanitarian response, labour mobility, and health diplomacy. The program emphasizes Saudi Arabia’s engagement in these forums and provides tools to navigate multilateral diplomacy, advance national interests, and foster effective international cooperation.

As Saudi Arabia deepens its role in international affairs, effective engagement with multilateral institutions has become essential for advancing national interests and contributing to global governance. This program offers diplomats the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of how international organizations operate and how Saudi Arabia can leverage these platforms to influence decision-making, build strategic alliances, and address shared challenges. By directly interacting with key institutions in Geneva, participants will not only gain practical skills in multilateral diplomacy but also enhance Saudi Arabia’s capacity to shape global policies in areas such as trade, humanitarian response, labour mobility, and health security.

  • Examine Saudi Arabia’s engagement in key institutions such as the UN, WTO, ILO, OCHA, UNHCR, ICRC, and WHO.
  • Analyze contemporary challenges in multilateral diplomacy, including humanitarian crises, labour mobility, health security, and trade reform.
  • Explore opportunities for Saudi diplomats to advance national interests through active participation in multilateral forums.
  • Gain practical exposure to institutional processes through site visits to Geneva-based organizations.
  • Strengthen diplomatic competencies in negotiation, representation, and coalition-building across the multilateral system.
  • Enhance understanding of how multilateral cooperation can support Saudi Arabia’s foreign policy, economic diversification, and global partnerships.

I. Payment Information

Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email with the appropriate payment instructions.

II. Cancellations and Transfers

Due to the extensive preparation necessary by participants before the start of the program, GRC must be notified in writing of all cancellations and transfers.

If you are admitted to the program but are unable to attend, you may nominate someone else in your place. However, acceptance of that person is subject to the approval of GRC. There will be no refunds for cancellations within one month of the program start date.

If accepted, I understand that I must be completely free of professional duties while attending this program. I confirm that I will not be absent from any scheduled program sessions and activities.
